17 Hundred 90 Inn and Restaurant
(Restaurants - Steakhouse)
307 E President StSavannah GA 31401 912-236-7122
Description:
HISTORIC DISTRICT. A historic mansion dating from 1790, this property was restored and opened as an inn in 1976. Its restaurant recalls a brick-and-beams tavern, and its excellent American Continental menu features dishes like pecan-crusted grouper, coq au vin, and crab-stuffed shrimp. You'll also find a half-roasted duckling, veal medallions, and a NY strip with sun-dried tomato butter. Happy hour specials attract crowds to the inn's lounge, which (like the property itself) is apparently haunted by the ghost of a lovesick young woman.
Aqua Star
(Restaurants - Steakhouse)
1 Resort DrSavannah GA 31421 912-201-2000
Description:
Located in the exclusive Westin resort, this dining room offers a beautiful view of the city. The kitchen specializes in premium seafood and steak dishes. Start off with she crab soup, and then dig into the signature filet, wrapped in applewood bacon. If you're still hungry, the dessert menu boasts an exquisite crème brûlée. Sunday brunch is also popular.
Chart House
(Restaurants - Steakhouse)
202 W Bay StSavannah GA 31401 912-234-6686
Description:
HISTORIC DISTRICT. This reputable restaurant occupies a historic 18th-century stone warehouse and offers a beautiful view of the Savannah River. It does offer exemplary steaks, including a succulent prime rib, but Chart House specializes in seafood. Among its popular options are macadamia-crusted mahi mahi, coconut crunchy shrimp, and pan-seared sea scallops. Crab legs and lobster tail are also constant hits. For dessert, the famous mud pie is a can't-miss, and an ample selection of wines and whiskey adds to the appeal.
Uncle Bubba's Oyster House
(Restaurants - Steakhouse)
104 Bryan Woods RdSavannah GA 31410 912-897-6101
Description:
Located on Wilmington Island, this restaurant is co-owned by Paula Deen, whose face appears in black and white photographs on the interior. Diners enjoy a pleasant view of Turner's Creek and hearty portions of seafood. Splurge for the crab-stuffed flounder, topped with butter sauce, and opt for the classic pecan pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
